Tunnels & Transit

Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant

Client: Exelon Corp.
Scope: Leak repair of a 36” diameter cooling tower pipe using hydrophobic polyurethane, acrylate chemical grout, and epoxy crack injection.

Leak remediation occurred on a live cooling system line, requiring pressure-injection of hydrophobic polyurethane with controlled flow and backpressure monitoring.
All chemical grouts used were approved for nuclear environments and chosen for low VOCs and thermal durability, with epoxy crack filling to complete final seal integrity.
Work was scheduled and executed under strict coordination with Exelon plant supervisors to avoid disruption to cooling systems and safety monitoring operations.
Tunnels & Transit

East Side Access – NYC Transit

Client: MTA / Tutor Perini / Vojtech Gall
Scope: Acrylate injection in a new underground substation to seal leaks and fill voids; over 15,000 gallons of chemical grout used.

  • The project involved over 15,000 gallons of Mapegel acrylate grout delivered through multiple zones to fill voids and waterproof the new substation walls.

  •

Work was completed in coordination with transit construction and safety personnel, including grout staging, pump management, and injection oversight.
All remediation occurred during the final construction stages of the underground substation, addressing both seepage and structural integrity through targeted injection paths.
Power & Energy

Arrow Lakes Generating Station – Keeleyside Dam

Client: BC Hydro & Power Authority / Kiewit
Scope: Injection of cracks and leaking joints at a hydroelectric station using polyurethane and acrylate chemical grout to seal structural water intrusion.

All grouts selected were environmentally approved for hydroelectric use, ensuring safe application near aquatic systems and under regulatory oversight.

Injections targeted both static and flowing water conditions within dam components, using dual-component pump systems for deep grout penetration.

Repairs were performed in tandem with BC Hydro site managers to sequence injection activity around ongoing generation operations and structural monitoring.

Power & Energy

Logan International Airport – Terminal E Fuel Tunnel

Client: Massachusetts Port Authority
Scope: Under-runway leak remediation of subterranean fuel tunnel using acrylate injection to seal persistent water intrusion after two failed polyurethane attempts.

The tunnel carried jet fuel lines below an active airport runway. Grout selection and procedures were tailored to protect fuel conduits while ensuring full waterproofing.
Acrylate resin was injected through cracks and voids, successfully migrating through the previously failed polyurethane and sealing at a cellular level.
After two prior attempts using standard polyurethane had failed, Dry Works’ team successfully remediated the leak with precise acrylate grout application under operational constraints.
